Hot Gift Ideas - Grow Chillies with Dad
Dad’s love chilli! The good news is chilli plants can be grown from either seeds or established plants, and make a hot gift idea for dad’s who love to add spice to their mealtimes.
In warm temperate climates like the Mid North Coast it’s the perfect time to grow chilli. Plant your starter plants from August to December or try some seeds, though be prepared for that slow start.
TIP: Chilli seeds can be sown directly into garden beds. Remember to mulch around the plants for better growing.
Known varieties, like Habenero (500 Scoville Rating ) or Ghost (1.5 million Scoville Rating) are all available at Abundance Garden Centre as established plants ready to go.
TIP: The Scoville Rating refers to the heat of the chillies so keep out of children’s busy hands.
